Thomas wrote on March 22, 2009 - 01:32

Is the one on the far left the 21" Crash or the 18" Crash?

Costanza wrote on March 26, 2009 - 03:29

The 21" crash sounds like it has a crack, i hear some type of sizzling overtone

Dear Thomas, yes the 21" crash is on the left side above the 21" ride and the 18" crash is on the right side above the hihat.

Robin replied on May 27, 2010 - 04:58

What type of ride?(thin, medium or heavy)

Simon wrote on March 31, 2009 - 22:13

I was going for the Byzance Brilliant, but after these videos I've ordered Traditionals. The ride is sooooooo much better in this range.

Misael wrote on April 03, 2009 - 12:50

I have a question...
What is the difference between the Byzance traditional china and the Byzance brilliant china.
I know they are videos about the brilliant and traditional series but I can't barely notice difference...
I haven't got the chance to hit any of this cymbals.
Please answer.

Conor replied on February 07, 2010 - 19:09

@Misael From these videos alone I'd say the brilliant has a slightly lower pitch, and a "fuller" sound. I own the brilliant, never played the traditional, and it's one of my favourite cymbals ever. Not fantastic in a small rehearsal space, but take it out live or put it in the studio and it's phenomenal.

Hey, I don´t know how to contact you Meinl guys, but maybe you read this comment. I would LOVE to know (as many other drummers), Aaron Gillespie´s and Zac Farro´s actual setups, because I think the ones on the page are not the actual ones. Thanks!! I love your cymbals

Chris Brewer wrote on April 16, 2009 - 21:13

Hi Fran,

I checked with Aaron and here is what he is currently using -

Byzance Traditional -

24" Medium Ride
22" Medium Crash
21" Medium Crash

Mb20 -

15" Heavy Soundwave Hihats

Zac's page is correct. However, every once in awhile, when he is feeling like it, he will use a Byzance Traditional 24" Medium Ride instead of the 22" Heavy Ride.

Thanks for your question!

- Chris

What cymbals doe Zac use??

Fran wrote on April 18, 2009 - 20:17

Hey Chris!, thanks for answering, I've been looking for months a way for contacting with you Meinl guys, because you have no mail. I'm from Argentina. Last month I traveled to Miami, and I went to Sam Ash looking for Meinl cymbals. They didn't have. I'm traveling in July to NY or to LA, is there any guitar center where I can try your cymbals before buying them?? Anyways, I love bands like paramore, the almost, and underoath, but I'm a small guy, and I think that 22 rides and 21 heavy crashes or heavy hi hats will be to heavy for me. I was thinking of a 21 byzance med trad ride, 20 byzance med trad crash, 19 byzance med trad crash and 14 byzance med trad hats. What do you think? Will they be too small for that kind of music?? thanks again man!!

Fran wrote on April 25, 2009 - 20:50

Chris, I just saw Zac Farro's profile and you've changed it. He's not using the 22 heavy ride, he's using a medium ride. Is this true.? A couple of days you tolde me thar instead of the heavy ride he sometimes used a 24 med ride... thanks!

Peter wrote on April 29, 2009 - 23:35

Hey, I want to know if Chris Kamrada from There for tomorrow is using your cymbals. In that case, what sizes and what cymbals is he using? Thanks

What type of heads are those that he is playing? I know that they are Evans but I wonder if they are the G2 line.
