- Holger Hahn about Fredrik Andersson
- Fredrik has fast feet, always has to touch something at his set in between songs! :-)
I usually mark all the drumset, but without marks, e.a. on a festival, i set up the drums by memory. In order to know how to set it up i usually try to imagine it was my own kit and play it once it is set up on another occasion. I also store some spots in my brain that i think could be useful when I set up another kit for Fredrik next time, for example: The height of the HiHat cymbals compared to the lugs of the 10" Tom. Regarding tuning: When I change drumheads, i clean the edge of the toms if necessary, put on a new head, tighten it a little more than I will for the final setting and put my knee in the center of the head and stretch it with the weight of my body. Then I loosen all the screws, tighten them again and try to get a similar tension on each screw. Then I tune the drums by listening to the tension. If it still doesn´t sound good i just try to find a way of making them sound good by turning each screw while i hit the drum, seeing what happens when i losen or tighten it. For cleaning I usually use guitar Polish because i always have some as I work as a guitar tech too.
